Bio

Fatima was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, English, and Psychology with minors in history and ethnic studies. Fatima is currently a law student attending the University of Nebraska College of Law.

Fatima’s parents came to Lincoln as refugees from Iraq. Growing up, she observed the hardships that come with immigrating to a new country. Fatima is fluent in both English and Arabic. Prior to starting Law School, she worked as a Child and Family Services Specialist with the Department of Health and Human Services and volunteered with the Center for Legal Immigration Assistance. Recognizing the challenges that underrepresented communities face, inspired her to pursue a law degree. Fatima is passionate about helping people and advocating for them in a legal setting.

Outside of the office, Fatima enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She loves reading, photography, and painting.
